Health CareIn today’s context providing public healthcare of international standard to the poor and under-privileged, including women and children is of utmost importance specially in the rural areas where medical condition is questionable.
In AKOHAM along with providing medical facilities the staff will also try to address most common health problems prevalent in the communities of rural Karnataka including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, under-nutrition, anemia, gynecological problems in women, family planning issues, post polio syndrome, and the other problems resulting from poverty, drought, inadequate food, and poor sanitary conditions. Educating the rural poor of these health problems and preventive measures plays an important role in improving the health conditions. The program will also focus on health education, addressing issues of nutrition, hygiene, sanitary conditions.
